Amid life’s chaos, a heart for the nation reveals true character. Lu You, though humble, never forgot his country. Qu Yuan wept for the people’s suffering, his lament echoing through centuries. Du Fu saw the rich feasting while the poor froze, his words cutting through injustice.
Yet patriotism need not always be tragic. Wang Changling dreamed of a general guarding the border, ensuring peace. Li Shen reminded us that every grain of rice holds farmers’ sweat—treasure it. Yu Qian, likening himself to coal, wished to warm all people, even at his own expense.
We may be dust or stars. But if we care for others, even in obscurity, we shine. Du Fu’s dream of shelter for all is not impossible. Start small: cherish food, value your land, care for those around you.
May we honor this life, and this land we call home.
