“Too happy to miss home” is a phrase born from Liu Shan, the last ruler of Shu Han. After his kingdom fell, he was sent to Luoyang and granted a noble title. During a feast, Sima Zhao arranged performances of Shu music. While his former subjects wept for their lost homeland, Liu Shan smiled and said, “I am so happy here, I do not miss Shu at all.”
There is a lesson in this for us all. Comfort can make us forget where we came from. But wisdom lies in remembering our roots, even when life is pleasant. Staying grounded in gratitude and aware of our journey is not a burden—it is a quiet strength.
To be at ease without losing sight of your path—that is true grace.
