A single speck of dust can reveal the shape of the world. In the late Shang Dynasty, King Zhou ordered ivory chopsticks. His wise minister, Jizi, foresaw disaster: "Ivory chopsticks demand jade cups; jade cups call for exotic delicacies; then come silk robes and grand palaces—desire knows no end." Indeed, the king’s greed grew unchecked. He built a lavish tower, filled it with treasures, and indulged in endless pleasure. In time, his tyranny sparked rebellion, and he perished in flames.
Small signs often hint at great changes. A tiny crack can widen into a chasm. In life and work, pay attention to details. A single thought can set a course; a small step can lead far astray. Stay mindful, stay humble. Nurture good habits early, and you may avoid regret later.
Wisdom begins with noticing the small. From there, we shape a better path forward.
