Eight Maxims on How to Live with Integrity
1. I choose honesty—not because I’m naive, but because virtue carries the world, and helping others brings true joy.
2. I choose kindness—not from weakness, but because kindness is our nature. Harm returns to the one who harms.
3. I choose patience—not retreat, but peace. A moment’s restraint calms the storm; a step back opens the sky.
4. I choose forgiveness—not cowardice, but grace. To forgive is noble, and nobility needs no excuse.
5. I choose to let things go—not from ignorance, but from wisdom. Why hold grudges when a generous heart brings peace?
6. I choose honesty in speech—not foolishness, but responsibility. Flattery deceives; truth, though sharp, cares.
7. I choose mercy—not without principle, but with compassion. Leave room for others, and you leave room for yourself.
8. I choose loyalty and love—not obsession, but reverence. I honor the bonds I share and the feelings I hold.
Live with heart. Live with grace.
