A Single Branch in the Forest
The Zhuangzi says: "The wren builds its nest in the deep forest, yet needs no more than one branch."
No matter how vast the forest, a bird claims only a single perch. Likewise, we may own a thousand bushels of grain, yet eat but three meals a day. We may dwell in a grand mansion, yet sleep in but one bed.
True wisdom lies in knowing when to let go. Simplify your life—trim unnecessary connections, release excess possessions, quiet the mind’s clutter. When we make room for less, we make space for peace.
Happiness is not found in having more, but in wanting less. In the quiet moments—a simple meal, a gentle breeze—we taste life’s purest joy.
