Che Yin and Sun Kang, two scholars from the Jin Dynasty, had little wealth but great thirst for knowledge. One summer night, Che Yin caught fireflies in a cloth bag and read by their faint glow. Another winter, Sun Kang noticed moonlight reflecting off the snow and used its brightness to study through the cold nights.
Neither poverty nor darkness could stop them. They turned the smallest sparks into lamps for learning.
True light does not come from abundance—it comes from a heart that refuses to give up. When we are determined, even fireflies and snow can become our guides.
So, in your own dark moments, do not wait for a grand light. Use what you have. A little glow is enough to begin. And beginning is everything.
