A king once sought a swift horse, offering a thousand gold pieces, yet three years passed without success. A courtier volunteered to find one. After three months, he found a horse—but it was dead. He spent five hundred gold pieces on its bones and returned.
The king was furious. “I wanted a living horse, not dead bones!” The courtier replied, “If you pay so much for a dead horse, people will see your sincerity. Soon, living horses will come.” Within a year, many swift horses arrived.
True treasure lies in sincerity. Buying bones was not about the bones—it was about showing intent. Those who seek talent must first demonstrate genuine desire. Sincerity moves heaven and earth; a sincere heart attracts what it seeks. In today’s rush for success, we often forget the power of authenticity. When we treat others with genuine respect, the best will naturally come to us.
